Color Play
Color is the fastest way to make a thrifted outfit look pulled together instead of accidental. You don't need color theory training, just a couple of rules that actually hold up.
Pick one bold color to anchor the outfit, let everything else go neutral around it. A loud vintage color, an orange windbreaker, a cobalt tee, reads as a choice when it's the only loud thing in the frame. Two loud pieces fighting for attention reads as noise.
Monochrome is the easiest cheat code in thrifting. Different shades of the same color, even across different eras and fabrics, almost always look intentional together. It's hard to get wrong.
Don't fear a clash if it's era-accurate. A lot of vintage color combinations that feel wrong by modern standards were completely normal when the piece was made, and wearing that combination reads as confident rather than confused.
When you're unsure, go back to the anchor rule. One color doing the talking, everything else quiet, is the fastest way out of a color decision that's stalling an entire outfit.
