Found This Week, the Thrift Goblin weekly finds roundup

Found This Week: Held Over

Eight things went live since the last one of these, seven of them telephone cards on Monday night, and the hundred-odd drafts stayed drafts. So this is the quiet week. Two of the cards earn their own entry, the rest of the cards get a line, and the back half of the post is last week's second tier, the items that lost the cut by a few dollars and never got their paragraph. They were always going to get one. This is the week for it.

Satoshi Urushihara, TENMA comic, $45

Satoshi Urushihara unused Japanese telephone card, TENMA comic, Akane Shinsha and Comic House

Unused telephone card, standard size, three photos, adult-tagged, so museum register. Credits on the face: TENMA comic, copyright Urushihara Satoshi, Akane Shinsha, Comic House. Urushihara is the Plastic Little and Legend of Lemnear artist, born 1966, into Toei out of high school in 1984 and keying on Transformers, co-founder of the Earthwork studio in 1990, Langrisser and Growlanser illustrator for the game side, and the adult comics side runs in parallel to all of it and has since the 80s. (He is one of the few 90s anime illustrators whose line you can identify from across a room. On a card the size of a credit card you can still do it. That is the whole test.) Here.

Koushin Houju, Sofmap bonus, 2007, $55

Koushin Houju Sofmap bonus unused Japanese telephone card, unicorn-a, 2007

The top price of the week and a shop-bonus card: the kind you got for preordering the PC game at Sofmap and nowhere else. Copyright 2007 unicorn-a, ArtShell on the face, four character names in the title, unused, standard size, three photos, adult-tagged, museum register. (Last week's batch was seventeen of these and ran as one entry. This one is on its own because it is the most expensive object in a week with eight objects. That is the rule and the rule is honest.) Here.

The other five, $15 to $45

Named, not paragraphed. Kyoya Araki, Gekika, $45, the artist's name printed on the face in roman letters and the title in kanji, and that is as far as I could trace him, so the card is listed on what it says and nothing more. Shiawase na Ohime-sama, Cecilia, $45, five photos. Makako Matsushita, $35, copyright ohzora shuppan 2003, a kimono illustration, the only one of the seven not adult-tagged, six photos. Tech Gian 7th anniversary, $35, the PC game magazine's 2003 cover by Yoshimune Nishiki, two photos. LUNAR WING, Milka, $15, four photos. All unused. (Five cards, five sets of credits, one listing format. The listing format is the point. You read the face, you write down what it says, you stop.)

Two PSA 8 Evangelion wafer cards, 2007, $40 each

PSA 8 2007 Evangelion Rei and Asuka Japanese wafer card chapter 3 RA01, Santa outfits, slabbed

Got a closer link last week and nothing else, which was unfair to a pair of slabs. 2007 Japanese Evangelion wafer cards, chapter 3, the cards that came one per wafer in a convenience store, foil name lettering, both graded PSA 8. RA01 is Rei and Asuka in Santa outfits with Pen Pen; RA02 is the two of them in plugsuits, back to back. Same card number prefix, same chapter, different pictures, read the labels. Four photos each. (Somebody bought a wafer in 2007, kept the card flat for eighteen years, and then paid to have it graded. Three decisions, each one less likely than the last. Here they are.)

NFL binder, 12 pages, 90s Pro Set with a Montana, $40

Vintage NFL football card binder lot, 12 nine pocket pages, 1990s Pro Set, Joe Montana Super Bowl XIX MVP

White three-ring binder, twelve nine-pocket pages, mostly full, Pro Set, Upper Deck, SP Authentic, base cards with some inserts, and a 1991 Pro Set Super Bowl XIX MVP Joe Montana in there. Not counted, scuff on the front, sold as one lot, ten photos. (The fantasy art binder and the Disney binder ran last week at $70 and $60. This is the third binder from the same shelf and the cheapest, because 90s football base cards are 90s football base cards. The Montana is why it is $40 and not $25.) Here.

Natsuki Ikeda, Monthly Entame, $35

Natsuki Ikeda Monthly Entame unused Japanese telephone card, 50 unit NTT card

A gravure teleca, so the register is magazine, card, condition. Monthly Entame, the EN TAME logo top left, a 50-unit NTT card, made in Japan, unused, light surface scuffs, four photos. (Two weeks in the held-over list and it is still the only magazine teleca in the batch. The game-shop cards come in piles. The magazine ones come one at a time.) Here.

Sterling rope band, $30

Sterling silver 925 twisted rope band ring, oxidized finish

Stamped 925, twisted rope, oxidized so the twist reads dark in the grooves, no logo. Pre-owned, surface wear, size markings in the photos, six of them. (The listing says "no logo, no flex, just a ring," which is the most this series has agreed with a listing in a month. The jewelry pillar on this store is small and this is what it looks like when it is doing its job.) Here.

TAPAS Gear Atelier robot alarm clock, $30

TAPAS Gear Atelier robot alarm clock, black body with yellow ears and starburst face

Black riveted body, yellow ears, a yellow starburst on the clock face, two set knobs on the back, battery compartment underneath. Works, needs batteries, scuffs on the legs and side, nine photos. I do not know the year and the listing does not claim one. (A robot that is also a clock is a category the 2000s produced a lot of and almost none of them still work. This one works. It is in the post because it works.) Here.

Topps Vampirella Gallery New Visions, 1995, $25

Topps Vampirella Gallery New Visions trading card set lot, 1995

Topps, 1995, the Vampirella Gallery New Visions set, sold as a lot, the exact cards in the eight photos, no checklist claim. (1995 was the year every comic character got a Topps card set whether it needed one or not. Vampirella needed one less than most and got one anyway. The listing calls the era "fully committed." Correct.) Here.

Nine Arceus, $20 each

Pokemon Arceus LV.100 Judgment DP50 holo Black Star promo card

Eight of the nine Arceus LV.100 cards from the 2009 Platinum Arceus set, AR1 through AR9 minus AR5, one card per type, holo, plus the DP50 Black Star promo, which is the same Arceus in a different wrapper: Judgment, HP 90, Diamond and Pearl promo numbering. All raw, all played, the DP50 has edge whitening, holo scratches, and a slight warp, stated. Five or six photos each. (Eight cards that are one card eight times and a ninth that is the same card from a different door. A kid who collected these in 2009 understood set theory before his teacher did.) The rest are at the search.

Also still up

The North Star atomic starburst plate, $20, oven proof and midcentury and meant to be used. The Calbee Shin Kamen Rider Asuka, the Eva 2.0 Mari pack, the Galgrease card, the Miss Young Champion QUO card, and the Disney gym tees from two weeks back are all in the store and off this list now. One other item went active this week that this post is not running until the owner says it belongs here. Next Monday.
